A heartfelt graphic novel exploring the complexities of friendship and trust through the eyes of a diverse group of teen girls united by basketball.
In A Map to the Sun, five principle players navigate the challenges of a struggling girls' basketball team. When Ren meets Luna one summer day at a beachside court, a friendship is born. But as Luna moves back to Oahu, Ren's messages go unanswered.
Years later, Luna returns, hoping to rekindle their bond. Ren, hesitant and dealing with family troubles, dropping grades, and the newly formed women's basketball team at their high school, finds her life intertwined with Luna's once more as they both join the team.
As the lines blur between their lives on and off the court, this endearing group of teens faces challenges that make them reevaluate the dynamics of trust and friendship. Sloane Leong's evocative storytelling is an ode to the ever-changing nature of these powerful connections.
